Diapers.

Something I obviously know nothing about. (Though I have changed a bunch before.) Anyway, I'm doing some research. Mommas, give me the dirt on diapers. What are your favorite brands? Are any of the store brands any good (Target, Publix, Costco, etc.)? I'm personally a coupon freak, so on a lot of products I'm not very brand-loyal. I buy what's on sale. Anyone do this with diapers? How many do you go through in a day? Any secrets to getting a good deal? How many freaking sizes are there? And I know there are lots of options for cloth diapers. Not what I'm asking. Just interested in the 411 on disposable diapers for now. Spill!

I have had three children, ages 4, 3, and almost 2. At one time all three were in diapers. My fav brand in terms of price and quality are the Costco brand ones. They don't have them in newborn sizes, so I used Pampers until I could get the Costco ones.

Pampers diapers all the way-and Huggies wipes. IMO. I believe there are six diaper sizes. We are on size four. Yikes. Better start getting shit ready for the potty.

I agree, I think Costco is the best value. You get a ton for a really reasonable price and they work really well. Other than that I love Pampers, and you can often find coupons for them.

how about which ones i don't like? huggies.
i like pampers (just the baby dry not the more expensive cruisers), target brand, and babies r us brand--in that order.
for nighttime diapers i like both huggies and pampers the same. we use pampers b/c they're cheaper than huggies (for the nighttime ones) and we always have coupons.
mm was in a size 3 from 4 months - 18 months. currently she's in a 4.
hth!

I've used Pampers from newborn to size 5. Around sleeping through the night we had to find a night diaper and the Pampers were not a good fit for us. They left our little guy wet and so I started using Huggies Overnites and they are awesome! We still have the occasional leak but I'm always impressed with how much they hold.

I buy all of my pampers at Sam's and I feel like I get a good deal. I also signed up for a coupon service with Sam's and so I get $3 off a box. It comes out to about $35 for an enormous box. The number of diapers per box goes down as they get bigger so it's hard to compare size 5 to newborn.

We preferred Pampers and always used those. The last time that I was in Babies R Us, they had an awesome deal on diapers. It was like a huge pack of 80 or 90 for around $18.

I know a lot of people swear by diapers.com. And I think babies can use anywhere from 5-10 (or more on a really bad day) diapers per day. Until I made a diaper cake for a baby shower last year, I had no idea how expensive diapers are. My word, they are not cheap!

We use Pampers whenever I can use a coupon and find the on sale. Bargainst.com will tell you the best deal weekly. Otherwise we buy them from Costco. After 5+ years, Costco wipes are my favorite. And they happen to be cheaper than most.

Name brand for sure (Pampers or Huggies). I've heard Costcos are good like the others said, but we don't have a membership. I did use off-brands when they were newborns (only because some people gave us those), and that worked OK because they poop like a million times a day at that point, so the diaper never stays on for more than 30 minutes. (I went through about 12-15 diapers a day with my girls as newbies, now about six a day). My girls have such sensitive little bums that the cheaper ones don't work well for us. Couponing works for diapers too though! I swear we spend more on wipes than diapers though (perhaps because my mom actually buys the diapers - ha! With two in diapers, that was her gift to us...) Those you have to be really careful with if your kiddos have sensitive skin like mine. Oh, and you didn't ask, but only use the purple tube Desitin - it has 40% zinc oxide, which is the highest amount allowed and it's the only thing that really works!!!

I prefer Pampers, although my mom will sometimes buy us Huggies. I don't turn them down!!!!!

I have also tried Dollar General brand, Wal-Mart brand and Luvs. I thought they all were a little too plastic feeling--especially the newborn/size 1.

I have heard that Babies R Us accepts the 20% Bed, Bath & Beyond coupons. I have not tried it myself, so I can't verify it. If you have a BRS coupon, you can usually stack a manufacturer's coupon on top of it. Unless we have really good coupons, we shop Wal-Mart or Sam's.

I gotta speak out and give some love to the Huggies. I get Huggies at Sam's (cheaper, obv). But, we used Pampers in the beginning (softer, and smelled powder fresh). I used Sam's club brand for a while, but then switched to Huggies based off their awesome Overnights! We use the regular Huggies during the day because they are cheaper than Pampers (though not as soft-doesn't affect him though) AND my main thing is that Huggies are bigger than Pampers (size 4 pampers barely fit him, but size 4 Huggies are plenty big). The bigger the size the less diapers you get in a box for the same amount of money. Therefore, we use Huggies so we can stay in a size as long as possible!

When mine were in daycare and diapers, I would buy the cheapest diapers ratio of diapers to price I could find. My daycare changed diapers every hour needed or not and then when they were dirty there were more. So as long as the brand I bought (we never had a problem) didn't cause rashes or breakouts then if they are in daycare and changed a lot buy cheap. For home I would use cheap during the day but at night they would leak so we used Luvs, Huggies or Pampers which ever one I could get with coupons the cheapers..mostly like Luvs though.

OK so are there actual "overnight" diapers that are different from diapers for day? Again, I obviously know nothing about this stuff!
